SONICS TO HOLD AGM ON WEDNESDAY 23RD NOVEMBER 2011
Bristol Sonics are holding their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 23rd November 2011 at Filton College WISE Campus, New Road, Stoke Gifford, Bristol BS34 8LP. The meeting will start at 7pm prompt with all attendees asked to meet in the reception area 5 minutes before.
Chairman Phil Cole and Head Coach Karl Fearnley are urging all players, current and potential volunteers, and supporters to attend, describing the AGM as “crucial to the club’s plans for the 2012 season.”
“Last season was undoubtedly our most successful yet with the club making big strides in both the open age and junior game as well as in our off-pitch activities” said Chairman Cole. “But the key to the club’s continued growth will be our ability to recruit and retain the right mix of volunteers to support the various initiatives for 2012 and beyond. We’ve identified and defined a number of roles that need to be filled so we’ll be looking to match volunteers to these roles at the AGM where possible although the door is always open for new volunteers to get involved.”
The AGM will also provide an opportunity for all club members to be brought up-to-date on the latest developments concerning the club, with a number of decisions to be made. While only paid-up members of the club can vote on agenda items the club will welcome opinions and suggestions from non-members. Items for discussion include: the future direction of the open age side of the club – next seasons competitions, training and playing venues, the coaching team, kit; developments in junior rugby league in the city; the SubSonics touch rugby teams; club finances; and media and marketing.
