Bristol Sonics Chairman Phil Cole has expressed his delight at news that the Rugby League World Cup will be coming to the city in 2013.

SONICS TO HOLD AGM ON WEDNESDAY 23RD NOVEMBER 2011

Bristol Sonics are holding their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 23rd November 2011 at Filton College WISE Campus, New Road, Stoke Gifford, Bristol BS34 8LP. The meeting will start at 7pm prompt with all attendees asked to meet in the reception area 5 minutes before.

Chairman Phil Cole and Head Coach Karl Fearnley are urging all players, current and potential volunteers, and supporters to attend, describing the AGM as “crucial to the club’s plans for the 2012 season.”

JOIN THE SONICS AT WEMBLEY NEXT SATURDAY

Next Saturday (November 5), international Rugby League returns to Wembley Stadium with a double-header of matches from the Gillette Four Nations. First, plucky Wales take on reigning World and 4 Nations champions New Zealand, before the afternoon's main attraction - a full-blooded encounter between England and arch rivals Australia.

The Bristol Sonics 2011 Presentation Night will take place on Saturday 17th September at The Richmond (33 Gordon Road, Clifton, BS8 1AW) from 19:30. Note the change of venue.

The night will be a celebration of everything the club has acheived this year so awards will be presented to players and volunteers from the 1st and 2nd teams, SubSonics Touch Rugby teams, and the club's junior set-up.

Bristol Sonics are planning a club trip to the Gillette Four Nations International Rugby League double-header at Wembley on November 5, and ticket orders have to be in by Thursday 21st July at 8pm.

SONICS CHAIRMAN PROMOTES BRISTOL 2013 RL WORLD CUP BID

Bristol Sonics Chairman Phil Cole today urged organizers of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup not to pass up the opportunity to award Bristol the right to host matches in the tournament – and boost Rugby League in the South West in the process.


Talking after welcoming members of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup bid inspection team to Bristol City's Ashton Gate Stadium on Thursday, Cole explained how hosting matches in the tournament would provide a "huge boost" for Rugby League in the city and the wider region.
